Top End Smart Homes ("TESH", "we", "us") is a sole trader business based in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. We respect your privacy and handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) where they apply to us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices.
1. Information we collect
- When you email us: your email address, name (if given) and the content of your message.
- When you buy a product: checkout is handled by Lemon Squeezy (see section 3). We receive order details from Lemon Squeezy such as your name, email address, country, the products purchased and order/licence information. We do not receive or store your full card or payment details.
- When you browse this site: our web host may automatically log technical information (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and operation of the site.
2. Cookies, analytics and tracking
This website does not use analytics, advertising trackers, tracking pixels or cookies of its own. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for targeted advertising.
3. Payments: Lemon Squeezy (merchant of record)
Our digital products are sold through Lemon Squeezy, which acts as our reseller and merchant of record. When you buy, you are purchasing from Lemon Squeezy, which processes your payment, calculates and collects applicable taxes (including GST), issues receipts and delivers your download. Lemon Squeezy collects and handles your payment and billing information under its own privacy policy, available at lemonsqueezy.com/privacy. Lemon Squeezy and its payment processors may store and process information outside Australia.
4. YouTube videos
Videos on this site are embedded from YouTube using its privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). Video thumbnails load from YouTube's image servers (i.ytimg.com), which means YouTube may receive your IP address and browser details. The video player itself only loads after you click play; once it does, YouTube (Google) may collect information and set cookies under Google's privacy policy. 5. How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiries and provide customer support.
- To supply products, honour licences, and handle refunds and consumer-law claims.
- To keep the site secure and working.
- To meet our legal, tax and record-keeping obligations.
We will only send you marketing emails if you have asked to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
6. Disclosure
We only share personal information with service providers who help us run the business (such as Lemon Squeezy, our email provider and our web host), where required by law, or with your consent. Some of these providers are located or store data overseas, including in the United States and the European Union. We take reasonable steps to ensure they handle your information appropriately.
7. Storage and security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. We keep information only as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law, then delete or de-identify it.
8. Access, correction and anonymity
You can ask to access or correct the personal information we hold about you by emailing us. You may contact us without identifying yourself where practicable, although we may need your details to help with an order.
9. Complaints
If you have a privacy concern, please email us first and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
10. Children
Our products are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.
